LIVE TWITTER FEED: What's being said about the Uganda Presidential Debate?


Today will be a historic day as Ugandans witness their first LIVE TV debate involving Presidential Candidates.

According to sponsors of the debate, UNDP Uganda, "the debate is a joint platform for the presidential candidates to share their vision and manifestos with the people of Uganda before the country goes to the polls on February 18, 2016."

The candidates are incumbent President, Yoweri Kaguta Museveni (National Resistance Movement); Amama Mbabazi (Go Forward); Dr Kizza Besigye (Forum for Democratic Change); Dr Abed Bwanika (People's Development Party) and Maj.Gen Benon Biraro ( Farmers Party). The independent candidates are Joseph Mabirizi, Maureen Kyalya Waluube and Professor Venansius Baryamureeba.

The moderators and Dr. Shaka Ssali of the VOA (below), Makerere Don Dr Suzie Muwanga and Dr Joel Kibazo of AFDB and formerly of BBC.
